 Welcome to our collaborative website!

A couple of Announcement from Rhina:

1. FYI this EdS wiki site will no longer be in service after June 3rd. Our budget does not allow us to renew the subscription we have. This means that if you want to save anything that's on this site, you will need to save it elsewhere. Please be sure to go back and copy and save anything you want to keep, e.g. your blog addresses, articles, work you posted, etc.

2. I posted the Capstone syllabus on uLearn earlier this week. I will give you more clarification when we all meet at 4:00 on Monday, June 2nd. But for those of you who are planning to have your write-ups/reflections completed by Monday, keep in mind that I'm not looking for more than 2-3 pages PER teacher identity. The on on teacher as researcher should focus mainly on your experience presenting your research at the conference rather than giving me details about the actual research study process. You will be turning in a completed research paper that will have all that information. Hope this helps...and so sorry again, Christy ;-). Take care and I look forward to seeing you all again on Monday. Happy weekend!

No problem.  Here is the information from the email as well.  Have a great week, Diane

Hi Everyone,

Attached are two forms for you to complete.

1. The first is the GSU residency form. I have already filled it out with program information. Please add any additional activities that you have completed (e.g., I know some of you attended other conferences, workshops through your school; some of you have conducted professional development training as leaders in your school or held teacher reflection groups and book clubs, etc...). Just add your own bullets.

2. The second form is the PSC form that you will submit when you finish the program.

Please complete both forms and bring to our last time together (Monday, June 2nd) so we can sign.

Thank you and see you soon,

Diane

Friends, the above link is for  the Hope Scholarship. I went to it and it says "Closed" until June 1. After that you can reapply to help pay for the summer semester. Scroll almost all the way down where it says, "Application Process".

Fill it out and take it to the 3rd floor of the ed building after it's noterized.

Hi Everyone, The deadline for your graduation (Fall 2008 in December) is June 1st.  Now that the semester is over, take a minute to go to the link below and fill out the forms and pay your $40.00.  See you soon, Diane and Team

According to the application, the deadline has already passed...it was January 10th!  What can we do?

The deadline is June 1.  We are set to graduate in December according to our schedule.

What happens if some of us already filled out the summer application and had it in on time?

Can we still graduate in the summer (August)?

Ode to the Cohort.doc  Just a little ditty I thought you might enjoy.  The rap we heard Saturday inspired me!  Feel free to add to it!

I have now created a place for you to turn in the last part of your Critical Child Project on uLearn. Hope all is well with everyone.

Capstone Meeting Date

As discussed in class, we have chosen June 2, 2008 from 4-7PM as our meeting date. Keep in mind that future meetings may be planned as needed with individuals or small groups depending on the nature of your capstone project. I will get an update from you on April 24th. The capstone period officially ends on July 26th 2008. Thus, all capstones will need to be completed by July 18th to ensure enough time for grading. I will provide you with an official syllabus when we meet on April 24th.

Hello all,

I wanted to let you know something incredible that happened at my school yesterday and I consider it an accomplishment by us all.

On Wednesday, the staff received an email that we were going to have a cross-level meeting and our grade was to meet with 1st grade with various support staff also included (this is approximately 40 so we broke up into two groups).  I was very skeptical since the questions were pre-established and administration were going to be circultating to "observe".

As I expected, the discussion were controlled/observed, there were no protocols used and the meetings lacked a great deal of "shared vision".  But, I felt like it was an opportunity we just couldn't let slip by.  After the 30 minute meeting, I went back to my room and sent an email to everyone at our meeting(s).  Basically it said that I was interested in meeting once a month on a volunteer basis to continue to talk - that I would like to build a community of teachers interested collaborating for student learning.  (If nothing else, I have learned the correct terminology, yes?)

By the end of the day I had 14 responses to my email and 3 more word of mouths!  I don't even know if I have to have permission from admin to do this but I guess we can meet at a Starbucks if its not approvable :)  I can guarantee you that had we not just had our last class the evening before, dicussing this very topic in a critical and empowering way, I would not have done this.  I want to thank you all for being my compass, I feel like there will be 25 angels with me all the way!
